Cost: $50 (please contact us regarding fee waiver requests)

Requirements: At least 18 years old. No skating experience necessary! Please complete the registration form in its entirety.

The registration form will close on Friday, May 6 2022. 

Not interested in skating? 

We have a range of participation options that keep shoe soles firmly on the ground: officiating, team statistics, coaching, announcing, administrative/records keeping, and volunteering. Please email getinvolved@charlottesvillederbydames.com to help determine the best way to get involved!

What should I expect from Open Enrollment practice?   

At our Open Enrollment practices we will start off-skates to teach you about your equipment, the rules of roller derby, and how to fall properly.  We focus on the basics – starting, stopping, stance, proximity, and lateral movement – to help you build the foundation of skills you will need in order to advance as a skater.

What equipment do I need/what should I bring with me?  

No skating experience or equipment is necessary to join us at Open Enrollment. We’ll teach  you everything you need to know and you can use our skates and gear while you learn.  We have a limited amount of extra skates, pads, and helmets to share – please complete the Registration form and Skate & Safety Gear Sizing portion as accurately as possible.

Just bring yourself (wear comfortable workout clothes!), a big bottle of water (we’re going to make you sweat) and a willingness to learn and try something new.

PLEASE NOTE: for safety and liability reasons, no one under the age of 18 is allowed to attend/observe our practices without prior authorization from our trainers and coaches.

If you’re just dying to get on skates, remember that you can skate at Carver Rec Center during Open Skate (Fridays 5-8 and Sundays 1-6pm) or there is a weekly hour of open skate after each Open Enrollment session from 5:00-6:00pm at CHS.
